Roland SH-101

Title link takes you to shots via this auction.

Update: This one probably should have gone up on Matrixsynth-b. The image looked a bit better to me on first look. Something about the reflections and the case. Anywhoo... If you like synth shots, know there's more on Matrixsynth-b.

As always, check out the comments.

  1. Warning! I bought a "perfect condition" 101 and a "mint" TR-606 from this guy and received a 101 different from what was described and photographed, and a very not-mint broken 606.

The 101 worked, but the photos showed a pristine synth and mine arrived with rust in the battery compartment, scuffs, intermittent fault in the bender wheel etc. The 606 Run/Stop button is jammed.

He's shipping directly from China and Japan - despite the items listed as located in Sydney Australia - and obviously has never seen the items he's sending out. I was even contacted by another burned eBayer who bought a 101 listed with the same photos!

He's giving me a partial refund for the 101 and a half refund for the 606 - acceptable to me as I was planning to send them off for modding anyway. But getting the refund has been a drawn out, painful process.

Don't get burned by this guy. His new items seem reliable enough - according to feedback - but he's burning people on the vintage gear.
