Thomas Henry Music

Via Scott Stites:

"This morning, out of the clear blue, I received a CD from Thomas Henry. I gave it a listen, and just couldn't believe my ears - it had some of the coolest ancient analog stuff I've heard in a long while - it was a collection of recordings he made in the early to mid eighties. Some of the earlier tracks feature the Moog modular at U of I, and later ones are made up of his DIY stuff. There's one track where he used the Moog as a drum machine - absolutely amazing!

I asked him why he hadn't released it, and he said he didn't think the recording quality was up to snuff (they're pretty old master tapes). He said I could do anything I wanted with it, post it, share it or whatever. I think he should release it as it is, on a CD, warts and all. I posted a track from it on Electro-Music. If you get a chance, give it a listen here."

  2. My apologies - University of Iowa.

FU is actually just down the road from me in Wichita Kansas - Friends University. They're a Quaker college, so their cheer squad never quite gets to utilize it to full effect.

    Cheers,
    Scott
