  1. Details:

"The New Ultra Pedal (patent pending) ! We've been making and selling custom Synth and Midi Pedal Units on Ebay for 6 years now... and this is what it was all leading up to ! The Unit comes with an onboard shock resistant, moisture resistant "touch screen" Computer. The screen displays 14 pre-loaded sampled classic sounds (listed below) that come stock with the Pedal Unit (collected over years of work). That also leaves 2 blank spaces for you to put your custom sounds into. To play, all you do is select any given sound on the computer touch screen and you're jammin'. There are Buttons mounted on the top for Octave Down and Octave Up as well. The computer is also WiFi which not only means that you can upload any other sound you might want from the internet, it also means that if there's WiFi signal at your gig you can check your email or surf the Web ! The sounds that come stock are:

    1. Moog Taurus Sample (Low)

    2. Rush "Tom Sawyer" Resonant Sweep (Low)

    3. Rickenbacker Bass Sample (Low)

    4. Hammond B-3 Sample (Low)

    5. Grand Piano Sample (Low)

    6. 7. 8. Mellotron Strings Samples (Low, Mid, High)

    9. 10. Choir (Mid, High)

    11. Flute (Mid)

    12. 13. Symphonic Strings (Mid, High)

    14. Oberheim Sound (Mid)

Sound preferences can be customized (just ask). Pedal shaft appearance may vary depending on what we have available at the time. These Units are made on an "as ordered" Custom basis, so please allow up to 4 weeks to ship. There are several options that can be added for additional cost (just email for prices). They are:

    1. 2-Octave Range or customized Note Range. 2. Computer can be mounted on a pedestal from the Pedal base like the old Taurus II for easy access to sounds during performance. 3. Custom Hardshell Case 4. Onboard MP3 player (for break music, backing tracks etc). 5. (Other) ?"

  2. Interesting to hear some sound samples...

I've been looking at these pedals all year and wondering if they'd made a custom mod for me. Only wondering idly of course... not enough to actually email the guy.

I'd want a Taurus II-style 1.5 octave range, and I wouldn't need all the touchscreen hoo-hah. Or even any on-board sounds. Just a MIDI port is fine, really...

In other words, I just want a Taurus II. Only shinier and MIDIer.

  3. I did contact these folks about getting a "pedals only" no sounds option. They will do (and have done) custom work like that, but I didn't ask about the 1.5 octave setup.

  4. How are you supposed to step on those tiny little keys in the display?

Is it some sort of foot-touch sensitive?

How do they resolve the tread/traction pressure distribution problem?

    Amazing.
