Sample of the Triadex Muse sent into AH via Scott. Posted here with permission. Big thanks to Scott. This is the first time I've heard one. Note the Triadex Muse is considered to be the first digital synth. It was produced in 1972. One is also featured as a prop in the movie Brainstorm staring Christopher Walken. You can find more info on the Muse via the Triadex (Muse) link below as with all posts. You can download the mp3 of the above here or here.

how does it make those creaky floor and chair noises?
ReplyDeleteAlso, that's a very cool room reverb. I had no idea the Triadex Muse had that sort of reverb.
The industrial design of the unit is top notch!
Sounds like really bad video game music.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't want a muse for it's sound, you'd want it as a music creation tool.
ReplyDeleteWTF... was this mic'd?
ReplyDeleteIs there a SID chip in there?
ReplyDeleteI used to work in a building in the RTP where they filmed part of Brainstorm. The labs were really cool looking. This would have been at home in the odd, angular shaped building which is now inhabited by Glaxo Smith Kline.
ReplyDeleteCool. That was my favorite movie at the time. I missed seeing the Muse though. I need to see it again some time.
ReplyDeleteI have it on VHS =o]
