  2. How unfortunate that the templates for the skins leave Mac users out in the cold...

Unless that Serif DrawPlus program is able to output in a different format (like .eps or something), and someone would be willing to send it to me. That way I could make final adjustments to my template (in Illustrator), so it is 100% correct.

Once I have the definitive dimensions, I will make the "Universal MMM Template" available. O-hum.

But the system sure sounds good though. :-)

As you found through the forum, you're already taken care of. Have Jeff email me the EPS files and I'll put them up on the site.

  9. I think the format is cool, and the sounds are very 70's analog monophonic. It reminds me of PAiA for sure. That's cool enough, but the only reason I like the PAiA type sound now is that all my PAiA modules are relatively whacked and produce fun sounds when layered. An updated 'PAiA' type approach is what this reminds me of.

For me, these initial sound samples very 70's, and I think you'd need to fill out both sides of the case with modules to really get a broad palette to work with (and not be bored), so that should be factored into the price of course.

Portability and ability to customize the panel look seem this format's greatest advantages. The basic philosophical design goals are also something to be appreciated, as are the basic and useful modules.

As for value for money, I too think you can get more synth (even analog) for about the same (as many others have correctly pointed out).

That's not to say anything is bad about this format, per se, and options are good to have.

All that being said, these audio demos don't sound good to me at all. It's like they all went through a 'pillow filter'.

  10. "Pillow Filter" is a good description. These are poorly produced I'm afaid, barely skirting anything unique sounding.

    They need a REwire demo!

  11. Ya, a rewire demo would hit the spot :)

Hopefully this synth does sound like it has a 'pillow filter', and I can start a new meme like the Buchla Banjo :)
