Alesis Micron Sound Design

  1. I don't know much about this board or the ion for that matter, but those are some really nice sounds imo. Thoughts?

    Anyone own this or the ion? Impressions? Seems like a decent piece of kit.

    I have a Micon and I love the little beast. Compared to other virtual analogs like the MicroKorg/MS2000k or the Waldorf Micro-Q I'd say it's very powerful for straight up analog emulation. The only real downside of the unit is that it's difficult to find an external controller box that can learn or send those weird MIDI negative NRPN's that it uses.

    Build quality is pretty solid, except for maybe that input knob (later ones use a plastic shaft). Micron's seem to be plentiful on ebay at the moment in the $200-300 range.
