  1. This increase comes after more than two years since the line was announced and caused by circumstances beyond our control (namely ROHS).

These adjustments do not effect all products and were determined by calculating the increase of component costs for each module. It's not a blanket percentage applied across the board and does not exceed 20% for any given model.

Please note: all orders placed before October 15 will be honored by our dealers at the original price even if the product is not in stock at the time of purchase.

  2. 2 years for the line, yes. But an increase after only 2-3 months for some, seems a bit soon. Of course, i'm sure you wouldn't do it if it wasn't needed.

  3. Did the decline of American civilization as we know it factor into the price increase?

  4. Well considering mouser doesnt give their customers warning when they triple the cost of wire, or toggles or solder or jacks or...

that's mighty nice of you Peter!

  5. I hear you on the price increase after three months. Here's the deal:

I used the pre-ROHS price standards when calculating the cost of these modules originally. I was aware it would seem a bit screwy when the price went up after a short period of time, but the option was to price it with the post-ROHS component standards and have it seem expensive as compared with the other products in the range which hadn't been raised in two years.

I appreciate your input, hope my explanation answers your concerns.

  7. Ah, Jacks...good example:

In October of 2004 when the Model 15 was launched Cliff jacks were readily available at their US office for $.30 each at quantity. Now they run $.68 and that's when the US office has them, which isn't often. We get them for slightly less from a source overseas, but we have to pay much more in s/h. Considering we go through a ton of these and can't ship anything without them....ouch.

  8. Yeah, I build effects (*cough* *cough* http://www.malekkoheavyindustry.com shameless plug *cough*)

And in the past year alone the cost of things like wire tripled Jacks almost doubled, Pots went up a little, but not much, Things like RoHS ICs are more expensive. Even the price of PCBs went up quite a bit this past year.
These things add up quick, and it really hurts "little guys" who cant afford to order 10,000 ICs at a time.

Ok, i'm done with my rant...i feel a little better now
