  1. it and the new minimoog lacks the high end gloss on the res and the open osc. new moogs sound dark.

old moogs can sound bright, new moogs sound colder and dark. not a fan at all, they cost a fortune, and dont deliver the vintage warmth, or the cut and res and hi freqs.. bah..

  2. Is there ANY modern analog synth that you don't hate?

    Andromeda, you hate it.
    Voyager and Lil Phatty, ditto.

If you want bright highend, get a DSI synth. For wicked growling basses, get Moog. It's not that hard, different synths have different strong points. Just pick the right tool for the job.

I wouldn't really call Moog prices a "fortune" either, at least compared to what Moog synths cost when they first came out.
