The SDS-2? First I'd heard of it. http://www.simmons.synth.net says it's a one-off?
ReplyDeleteI do remember the Simmons Suitcase being used in the Perfect Kiss video - maybe that's what they're referring to?
I believe it's a typo. It was most likely a Simmons SDS IV (two-channel drum synthesizer).
ReplyDeleteAfaik they used the Simmons suitcase with a SDSV. I reckon it's the missing instrument in that equipment list.

ReplyDeleteAnd I'm pretty sure they were running 2x Voyetra 8s. But yeah, at one point in the mid 1990s, I had more 1980s gear than most bands in the 80s...
Parenthood, marriage, and satisfaction with the laptop life have ended those days, alas.
They actually had 3x Voyetra's: one to be sequenced, one for Gillian to play live, and one as backup. Their main sequencer at the time (mid '80s) was a Yamaha QX-1.
