  1. That's a shame...
Akai being 1st on such a rating..
Their samplers were popular for sure but that does not translate into being the greatest. I would have welcomed an ASR-X here but it looks like all major brands had to be pleased here.
    Sonic State losing cred here.

  2. I like the series, I would like to see them more often and would like for them to be more technical.

@ Xavier - you have to remember that the akai's were the "cleaneast" samplers to many many people and not everyone wanted to destroy or synthesize there samples if that was the case im sure that the emu E4XT would have won out :D

  3. @ xavier - The lists associated with their series were determined by vote, not by Sonic State themselves. I can't really see how you could see them as losing credibility for it.

They take the resulting list and make an informational series out of that list, in a very smartly produced series.

You'd be surprised at how hard it is to make a video more complicated than "camera over shoulder, showing person playing synth, with crap audio", which seems what 95% of videos are.

  5. @Dustin, Inside:
    thanks for making your points.
I did not know about this being the outcome of a poll. But that really lays emphasis on popularity rather than quality of the product.
Anyway, that was a direct, warm reaction and I hope you can understand my overwhelmed comments ;-)
    Regards,
    Xavier
