  1. These things practically go for the same amount as an actual jx3p!

  2. I bought a JX-3P a few days ago. $180 off Craigslist, great shape. They seem to be selling for $150 on Ebay.

As for the PG-200, $250 seems steep. I'm hoping to get lucky and scoop up an ok one down the road for $150 tops.

For now, there's a free VSTi built with synthedit that I may use as a foundation for building patches, then editing them manually into the synth. Too bad the plug-in can't produce tape memory signals, but you would still need to program the entire bank.

I don't know how faithful this plug is to the real thing, but the GUI is a PG-200, which works for me quickly designing patches and tweaking them later in the synth.

Unfortunately you can't send CC messages from the plug to the midi in and program from your PC. But there is a kit for about $75(?) that lets you use nearly any midi controller instead of the PG-200 to program.
