Admin: Quick Note on Videos

Apologies for all the videos going up, but as the saying goes, when it rains, it pours. I'm noticing that some YouTube vids are playing choppy on my system. No doubt due to the increased number I'm putting up due to NAMM. However, if I click on the title link of a post the video will play fine in the resulting page as it no longer has to compete for resources. I thought I'd throw this tip out for anyone that might be seeing the same. So... If a video is slow, click on the title of the post and watch it in the resulting page.

  2. How about just linking to most videos with a thumbnail, embedding only the super-cool ones? Just a thought... probably more work for you than anything else...

  3. Yeah, that would be a bit too much work. I can barely keep up with what comes in.

  6. It only recently started crashing Linux Firefox.

It was working a few weeks ago.

Crashes on my EeePC, my Nokia N810, and my Debian installation.

  7. Blogger recently did an update. It could be that. I had to remove the top links in the header because they were showing up as a big section of white/black space. I haven't made any other changes aside from adding the Analogue Haven image on the right which is simple html. I removed some ads as well. Could be the embedding of YouTube, SonicState or Twango as well.

  8. My PC sounds like it's about to blast off from the CPU fan. Scrolling brings CPU usage to 100% and it barely lets up. It does it on Firefox and IE.

  9. Well, NAMM is over and I'm raising the bar on videos, so hopefully it will get better soon.
