Roland Juno-106

"It's also commonly said that the Juno-60 sounds "punchier" than the 106 because the 60 had the ability to modulate osc. pulse from an envelope."

I actually haven't heard this one often. Feel free to comment.

  1. Havent' heard that either, but I wonder how that makes a box sound "punchier."

  2. The J60 uses the roland IR3R01 envelope chip. (same as Jupiter8) while the J106 uses software generated envelopes. Really they are very different synths even though they are nearly identical in architecture.

  3. The do sound noticeable different as well. I'm still trying to figure out if the JX10 and JX-8P are as noticeably different.
