"Roland SH-201 which was used by Madonna's longtime keyboardist Marcus Brown on Madonna's recent "Confessions" Tour. It was personally customized by FORAT himself as part of Marcus' unique white Roland setup for the tour. This whole rig has a stunning customized white & black paint design. To see an article about this setup, and more pictures, go to this Roland Web site page. The FORAT modifications for the SH-201 cost $1,000. This is your chance to own a piece of Rock & Roll history and is a one-of-a-kind keyboard, like no other available on the planet. I also have the FORAT-customized white Roland V-Synth from Marcus' tour setup, shown on the Roland Web site" I didn't see the V-Synth listed as of this post.

I ask this every time I see a Forat-modified piece. How is he getting the decals or silkscreen templates? Is he really reverse engineering them?
ReplyDeleteI was either in the market for a V-Synth or a Triton for my '80s band, and I just bought the white V-Synth. I'll be sure to let everyone know how it looks.
ReplyDeleteNow to get the Customsynth "JX-3PG" fully repaired so I can use it & learn some Missing Persons tunes... heh.
In other news, to pay for all of this, I'm going to let go of my Microkorg and Virus kb. Both have soft cases. Email me if you're interested, and soon... I'll be listing them this weekend. dave at fark dot com
Anyone remembers a white custom paint job for a Nord Lead?
ReplyDeleteI think Madonna has something to do with that one as well, but wasn't able to find it anywhere.
How much would it cost to do a group buy of all Madonna's musical instruments? Followed by a ban on future access to anything but trombone, kazoo, swannee whistle, and vibraslap. After all, great artists love a creative challenge.
ReplyDeleteHere's the white Nord Lead: http://www.forat.com/allpictures/Madonna/Madonna%20Nord%20Lead%203%203.jpg
ReplyDeleteMany more pics on the Forat site.
@chris
ReplyDeletethanks man! couldn't find it anywhere - it's a 3 - I thought it was 2
"It's not hard to copy logos.. ten minutes with a digi cam and adobe illustrator."
ReplyDeleteDude, I do that for a living. Try doing that with panel graphics that are going to be silkscreened. I've seen a few of his MPC mods in person...they're not decals, and they're not approximations.
I mean, he certainly MIGHT be doing that for every bit of text, but if that's the case, I'm not nearly as impressed. I thought he'd have connections for get the original cad/illy files.
I don't mind the color scheme, but the nonsense in the ebay auction of "a chance to own a piece of ... history" is a pile of fetid dingos' kidneys.
