Color Coding Patch Leads

via Navs:

"thought I'd share this with the modularists...

Lost in a jungle of grey and black patch leads and can't figure out what's modulating what?

Then grab yourself some Post-it notes, sello-tape & scissors for a transparent patching experience!"

  1. Been doing this for years, but for all my cables...At least with modular patching, you can almost always physically touch both points at once. But I use this scheme to i.d. cables that are, let's say, behind one rack that is 20 feet away from a mixer that the other end is connected to. (Wow that was terrible grammar, sorry!)You can use multiples when you run out of colors.

  2. I sometimes used colored electrical tape. But another trick I've done is print up Pancode-like labels, both color and number coded, on my inkjet printer.
