"This is a great midi to control voltage converter that allows analog synthesizers and other modular devices to be controlled by a midi keyboard, rhythm machine, or sequencer. The CV-5 works with any monphonic analog synthesizers which conform to the 1 Volt per octave or Hertz per Volt scale standards. The unit can be confiigured by sending midi program changes. The CV-6 goes well beyond most simple midi-to-CV

for anyone who's interested, these are among the best Midi to CV converters made.
ReplyDeleteI had one. I found it uber annoying to edit the setting via midi cc messages. If he had some kind of plug in to deal with it. I prefer the kenton pro solo honestly.. It's easier to set up..
ReplyDeleteActually, the editing is via program change messages. But I know what you mean. A plug-in to set it up... hmm...
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, they are great converters. I've got one of the last ones made; Kyle built me a special one to drive my EML 101 (1.2 V/octave).
Hey I've got two, one is octave/volt and the other also switchable to hz/volt and yes they are very nice and Kyle is a pleasure to work with..what sold me on his units was in addition to mid/cv there was the presence of LFO CVs that could have their wave forms be re-started based on MIDI clock bars, not exactly a synched wave form but close enough, to drive voltage in time with the music
ReplyDeleteand as for controls it is really not that hard to set up something with to send the cc messages and just label them ,just about any outboard controller can do that
