JoMoX T-Resonator 2-channel Processor

"Here is the new Jomox T-Resonator processor. Mike has the Casio VL-Tone and a drum loop running into the T-Resonator which really screws up the sound in a very interesting way."

  1. Hmm, I'm not sure they've quite figured out how to make the best of it yet.

  2. I never heard anything from a Jomox resonator that would be useful to anyone but Merzbow.

  3. Seems like an excellent concept, like a much simpler hardware version of U-HE MFM II.

I'd like to try it out!

  4. Beale: That's because you haven't heard any demos done by someone who knows how to use it properly. The first rule is that you don't crank the filter feedback knobs all the way ccwise unless you've got it balanced against the other filter with a nearly fully cwise feedback etc.,

If you know how to use it, it's a fantastic tool for dub, because the cross-channel inverted phase stuff combined with LPFs does some very cool spatialisation effects.

  6. Sorry, I wasn't trying to criticize, it's just that I know the M-Resonator well, and I was trying to hear what the delays bring to the show. With that many controls, it takes time to find the sweet spots.

If you do another video, it'd be good to hear the dry input first, and maybe use a signal with some pronounced transients. The envelope follower plays a big part in the M-Res sound, so it'd be useful to hear how the effect changes now that there's delays involved.
