Wow! And I was just thinking last night that I would do a blog post about the SL-8, if I could find any info on it. Prior to this, the only place I'd ever heard or seen of it was in Mark Vail's book.
ReplyDeletejared's link has a lot of the technical details. That "variable harmonic" thing looks interesting; I'll have to read that some more and see if I can figure out exactly what it did. Actually, with some updates, the SL-8 sounds like something that could sell today.
Wow, the DX-7 was great, but this was only going to be $500 more and had hands on control + split/layer...
