This is like a scene from Spinal Tap. Great technical musicianship by Wakeman. . .but this is one of the lamest spectacles. The music is terrible and the pageantry on ice is just plain silly. I'd rather see the muppets on ice.
ReplyDeleteNice Spinal Tap reference. I can't believe this clip is actually serious.
ReplyDeleteOh. My... God that is ridiculous! And it was all Rick's idea?? Jeepers. How high was he?
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard this, so I googled it - here's what wikipedia says:
The tour in support of the album was a theatrical performance on ice, an expensive project which, despite being sold out, caused Wakeman to go bankrupt. [1] [2] The album enjoyed good reviews but the live show in support of the record was ridiculed over the years and considered as one of the most notorious failures in rock n' roll history
Spinal Tap is spot on, hahaha.
