"This is a free archive of out-of-print LP recordings in high-quality digital format, including a lot of important electronic music that hasn't been heard in many years.
I have no affiliation with this site, and I'm not completely convinced that it's ethically legitimate, but those issues aside, it looks like a great resource."
I'll paraphrase their copyright policy. "We will distribute copyrighted works until the owners contact us to tell us to stop."
ReplyDeleteHuh. I wasn't aware copyright was an 'opt-in' type of affair as long as your work met some sort of arbitrary 'avant garde' criteria. Interesting.
Thumbs down on the ethics.
ReplyDeleteI say thumbs down to the bastard copyright holders who refuse to release this material in any form. What's stopping them from distributing it online themselves or with help from iTunes or similar distributors? Isn't that why they hold a copyright in the first place, to make money from an investment?
ReplyDeleteIt makes no sense to go after "The Avant Garde Project". The copyright holders need to meet the demand or stop bitching.
Plaid_emu, Right on, you're so right... others...mmmmm typical internet whyning cliché, no matter what, it's never good...
ReplyDelete:(
I say thumbs down to people with an erroneous, self-important sense of entitlement. Just because something exists does not give you the right to have it.
ReplyDelete"I WANT! GIMME!"
