Museum quality would need to the original wood case right? Also, it is not in tune, it was way flat.
ReplyDeleteNew knobs, pitch and mod wheel mod - not even close to mint. Certainly not museum quality.
ReplyDeleteMy god - I just watched the whole video - if this guy paid someone to set this unit up for him, he got badly ripped off, as he clearly has no idea about how it's supposed to sound. That's got to be one of the worst setup jobs I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteOh my. Is it me or when he turns on the A-440, isn't it quite a bit flat?
ReplyDeleteAnd totally agree. This is so far from "mint". He thinks that the blue mod wheels increase the value but I highly disagree in this case. They just make it seem faddish.
Not to totally nit pick, but also if you say "I had the original manufacture do a run of them for me just so everything was perfect, so they are original!" That does not mean they are original. It just means that they are new from the same company. If Dave Smith made a brand new P-5 today it would still not be an original P5.
"I think it has the old oscillator board"
ReplyDeleteAlso how can this serial number be from 1972 when serial number 328X is from 1974? So if this serial is 5742 that would put it somewhere between '74-'76....
ReplyDeleteIt would appear that this goofball halted the auction.
ReplyDeleteOk guys, all you who have nothing to do but bitch about a synth your not even going to buy can @#!@#$@@. First of all. If you dont like it dont buy it. I highly doubt listening to a low quality audio from a digital camera video you can tell tell how it sounds. I did my best in what I know to accurately demonstrate this synth. This thing sounds great to me, and inless my tuner is off its not out of tune! I could go on about this but I dont have the time to bitch like you guys do.
ReplyDeleteIs this perhaps a DoniMoog?
ReplyDeleteKevin you don't seem to get it. My issues are not at all with your demonstration. Its with your use of the more and more over used (by everyone on eBay) words "mint", "museum quality" and "original". And also that you advertise it as a 1972 model when that makes no sense given the serial number.
ReplyDeleteIf you are asking top dollar for a synth you need to get all the facts straight. And how do you know I'm not buying a minimoog? I've actually been looking for one for quite a while now.
If you had used words "excellent condition with some modifications" thats fine because thats what it is. I'm not denying it's in steller shape. But it can not be called mint with blue mod wheels and new wood. Refurbished? maybe. Again, people have to look out for other who are about to drop $3800+ on a synth. If I went to buy a 1972 Chevy and spent a lot of money on it and I got it and it turned out to be a 1975 I would be pissed. I do know that they are apples and oranges but the general point is the same.
