Roland GR-500 Owned by Genesis?

images via this auction

As always, this is not my auction, so take the following details from the auction as you wish: "Very Rare Roland GR-500, and what makes this one even more collectible is the fack that it was the Guitar synth that the group GENESIS used, I got it from them when they sold a lot of there stuff back in 2001 on ebay and after lots of bids and $1600 it was mine I wanted it.

I have the certificate to prove it was GENESIS guitar synth GR-500, I have also left the settings marked by the band showing the sound that they used with this unit."

  1. Genesis auctioned off a boat load of gear back in 2001/2002 on ebay. I bought their Steinberg Avalon software and it came with the same certificate. the product manual even had scribbling like "phil digs this feature" on certain pages. (not to say that means it was real, but whatever)

anyway, long story short i remember a roland GR-500 being one of the auction pieces so its a good chance thats legit.

  2. Why does the signature look like a "brush script" font?

  3. never trust a 'certificate' that is set with default system fonts: brush script, like synthetic said, and especially when the title is set with Copperplate Gothic... i just threw up in my mouth
