Almost got scammed on Jupiter 8

Also, if you use Paypal, do it with your eyes WIDE OPEN. They are NOT a bank, and they are NOT your advocate. I'm going to stop short of saying don't use them, but definitely only use them for amounts you can afford to completely lose with no recourse.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I've had many great experiences with them and two complete nightmares.
A few years ago I got scammed on a cinema display. I used Paypal, but since it was drawn from my checking account, I was able to get my bank to reverse the charges, circumventing Paypal entirely. Not sure if this would work for everybody. "Get to know your banker" is good empirical advice anyway...
ReplyDeleteYep, I only use a credit card with PayPal. If something goes south my CC company handles it, not PayPal. I try to use my PayPal funds with dealers only.
