Are those really wireless or is that just like the brand name? Need to get a few knobs down farther, they look pretty cool, seem like cool concept, would like to see more and hear them too.
ReplyDeletegiven one of the pictures shows an xbee module, they're almost certainly really wireless. presumably there's some sort of zigbee mesh formed between the small boxes, with the large box as a sort of controller. nifty idea.

ReplyDeleteyes they are indeed wireless (dave noticed correctly they employ an XBee / Zigbee 802.15 wireless mesh network) you can find more info about wireless sound objects at assault with sugar. If you click on the Networked Objects tab to the right, there is a post with a video showing how they work. the modules communicate wirelessly with each other, and then the ones that generate sound plug into a sound output such as speakers.
