Roland SH-101

"This was and still is a very popular analogue synth. Apparently 'DEVO' were the first group to receive the first two of these ever made from Roland themselves."

Anyone confirm or deny this?

  1. Mark and Bob Mothersbaugh were (are ) in Devo. Jim Mothersbaugh was in Devo very early as the drummer and made his own electronic drums. This was in like 1975 or something, so a little ahead of his time. Jim liked that so much he went to work for Roland. Roland did all kinds of custom stuff for Devo, so them getting the first two SH-101s isn't out of the question.
