I saw Tom Coster during this period doing a Moog?Ibanez clinic at a Sam Ash in Queens NYC!! He was playing a banana yellow Liberation with a pitch wheel on the neck instead of the stock ribbon. The liberation was going through Ibanez stomp boxes.Backing him was a reel to reel providing drums and I think a MemoryMoog was synce'd to it. They had a raffle for some Ibanez stomp boxes. My brother and I bought the raffled chorus pedal off a guy who had no idea what to do with it! Good times :)
The solo that its son (Tom Coster Jr.) he does in Dances Sister Dance of the LP MoonFlower is one of solos the most beautiful ones than I have listened. Without a doubt, ton Coster is one of my great influences!
Santana's Borboletta record is perhaps his best and Tom's work on it is amazing!
ReplyDeleteGotta love the early 80's motif! The liberation suits that time very well;)
