And the right half of a GS-2 peeking out of the left of the photo.
ReplyDeleteFrom the knobs and the thick side panels, I'd say that the mystery synth is a Yamaha CS-40m. It could be a CS-20m; it flashes by so fast that it's difficult to be certain.
ReplyDeleteAh, it's good to have the time to look at matrixsynth again.
hey, thats a CS-01 with the breath controller! hey, what kind of breath controller _is_ that?
ReplyDeleteThat's the optional CS-01 breath controller from that time, and yeah, that's a Yamaha analog but I can't see it clearly enough to decide which one either.
ReplyDeleteCan't touch Cosmic Invention, the definitive Japanese 1980s teens playing synths band.

I see at least two CS-40M's, a CS-70M, GS-1, GS-2, Arp solina string ensemble (ontop of GS-2), CS-01 and what probably is a DX-7 (the flat keyboard sitting on top of the GS-1).
ReplyDeleteOn second thought, the keyboard seen on the left of the soloist (at 1:15) might be a Yamaha SS-30 stringer rather than a Solina.
