  1. OK, I think it's time someone came out and said the obvious: roland guitar synths suck balls. This think sounds awful. Period. It takes an expressive instrument, the electric guitar, and turns it into an escalator. Why anyone wants one is beyond insane. I am a guitar player and a happy owner of some motm gear and a prophet 600. They kick ass. But roland guitar synths just don't. They are one trick ponies and the trick isn't that good, unless you are in an elevator in chick corea's house god help you. Stop the madness please. Near two grand for one of these novelty items is crazy. You know I'm right so stop it. Please. The idea of a bunch of alt rock bands playing out on this gear is horrifying and you know I'm right. Admit it. A stronger example of the corrosive effect of irony is unimaginable.

  2. uh yeah dude, actually the GR-50 and the other PCM based roland guitar synths def sound like shit, but the GR-300 is one of the coolest sounds ever.

i'm pretty sure there are no crap indie bands using a GR-300. they aren't smart enough to know how cool it is.
