To reduce spam, comments for posts older than one week are not displayed until approved, usually same day. Do not insult people. For items for sale, do not ask if it is still available. Check the auction link and search for the item. Auctions are from various sellers and expire over time. Posts remain for the pics and historical purposes. This site is meant to be a daily snapshot of some of what was out there in the world of synths.

I wonder what those monsters cost back in 72/74...
ReplyDeleteOn Feb 1, 1974, a fully loaded 35 went for $5395.00 US, and a full 55 went for $8795.00 US. I have the price list including individual module prices; I'll post it now.
ReplyDeleteAnd how do you compare 70's USD with today's prices? just double it?
ReplyDeleteAccording to these guys
ReplyDeletehttp://www.dollartimes.com/calculators/inflation.htm
$8795 in 1974 is equivalent to $39,837.95 in 2008.
For comparison, the average price of a house in the US in 1974 was $39,000.
I scanned a bunch more Moog literature. You can see it on my Flickr site:
