So, what product would you like us to design next?

via the Analogue Solutions website
"I have about 3 products coming out in the next 6-12 months. But nothing new past that on the design board, since I have been so busy with the Leipzig keyboard synth.

I have a few ideas of the type of synth/analogue related-product I might do next (though it will never be anything radical, synth analogue stuff as been around for 30 or so years so it's all been covered. All I can do really is re-invent the wheel, so to speak.) I specialise in monosynths, modulars, percussion and analogue sequencers. I will not get involved with DSP, digital circuits (beyond MIDI and logic), patch memories (complex and expensive to implement) or polysynths (expensive) - to give you an idea of our design ethos.

If you want to share your thoughts let me know. But please don't be offended if I don't reply since there's lots to do here! But I will try and share my thoughts back where I can. I will of course ignore any offensive emails! (There's always some opinionated bright spark out there). Maybe I'll list some of the funnier ideas on this site (and keep the best to myself!). Some things I consider when thinking about new products; do I have the technical skill to achieve the design, will it be too complex or expensive to produce, will anyone actually BUY it! Also I have to like the idea. I never design any product that I won't enjoy myself."

AS T's as well.

You can find the Analogue Solutions contact link to leave your suggestions at the top right of the Analogue Solutions website. Feel free to discuss here as well of course.

  1. "synth analogue stuff as been around for 30 or so years so it's all been covered"

This is the type of misconception that stifles innovation.

  2. I have a crazy idea, how about working on improving the crappy build quality of your current products?

Its by FAR the worst in the cottage synth industry.

  3. I'd love to see someone tackle a modern string synth. Of course to bring something new to the table, complex digital routing and patch memory i think would be necessary. But i think it's about time some divide down circuitry came back.

  4. A different approach:

  5. I'm with donald here, raise the quality standard. The Oberkorn sequencer never worked right and the tb clone without sequencer is um, not quite fantastic.

  6. I recently paid a little over $3000US for a Vostok and feel like a fool. Great idea, great form factor (love it), hell... the sound of that filter is great for what it is! BUT the build quality is a fukcing joke. This thing is the same price of Cwejman stuff and they are built like night and day. Yes, I have the MK2 model and yes I have a room full of "other" mfgers made by "cottage" synth guys...and this thing is just built like shit compared to....ummmm every one else :)
