Eddy Grant - Electric Avenue
Youtube via ChiliDogWithOnions.
The year was 1983. A synth filled track. Anyone have any idea what synths and drum machines were used?

ReplyDeleteLove Eddy Grant. I'm not sure about what's on this track, but here's he's live with a polymoog being played in the background:

It's interesting to note that he plays, writes, records and produces all his music. The previous video calls it out & I had to pull out a few records to confirm it.
Mini Moog in there for sure.
ReplyDeleteplease don't forget the great "Time Warp", moog galore

Drums are an Oberheim DMX
ReplyDeleteI think the "motorcycle" sound is from turning the delay time knob on an analog delay - does anyone know for sure how they would do that in post production?
ReplyDeleteexpression pedal hooked to a delay
DeleteWhat Pac said, great tune

ReplyDeleteIt's the Oberheim OB-Xa or OB-8. You can see it on live videos.
