Not the best shot, but I've never seen one of these before. Anyone know who made these? Update: Hammond according to EmptySet in the comments.
"Its just a controller, it doesn't actually generate sounds."

Update via electrongate in the comments:
"The MIDI Step was originally designed by Fast Forward Designs. I think Hammond Suzuki did the manufacturing for them but I believe the MIDI Step was sold by F.F.D. (marketed by Russ Jones).
So you've never heard of Fast Forward Designs? This was an engineering firm started by Marcus Ryle and Michel Doidic (ex-Oberheim engineers) who later went on to start a little company called Line 6."

Hammond.
ReplyDeleteThere was a bass player in a band I was in that owned one of these. I don't recall that it had any Hammond branding at all on it...must have been ghost-built. Anyway, the thing was really powerful...chording, start-stops, velocity (I think). Built like a tank, too.

I just bought a used Hammond Suzuki MIDI Step Fast Forward Designs but without a power supply. The rear power outlet says" 9V DC IN". Where can I get a power supply that will work on this killer vintage MIDI foot controller?
ReplyDeleteDid you ever find the 9v power supply for this and if so where did you get it, thanks.
DeleteAlso I could use a owner's manual for a Hammond Suzuki MIDI Step Fast Forward Designs...if anyone has a link for it please help. Thanks
