To the owner in the video, your Steiner VCF is having the issue with the resistor that is directly connected to the line going to Rez pot pin(2). I had to put a 10k trimmer to be able to adjust to fix that issue. I perfected the design and sold a few on ebay.
ReplyDeleteThis is a common bug with steiners, it has to do with the unperfectiveness of the (2) transistors (original version). The 10 k trimmer lets you adjust to compensate. putting a 100k trimmer on the main CV line also helped fine tune the cutoff range.
Look up ysynth arp 4027 and study how there is a 100k trimmer to adjust the cutoff range.
the scratchiness of the rez pot is unfortunately normal, it is not a bad pot. Believe me i tried a shit load of pots. HAHA
ReplyDeleteThe problem has been found, in fact our friend was not using the right potentiometer value and hacked it with a bigger one with a tap resistor in parallel.
ReplyDeleteNow, he has changed to the right potentiometer value and the filter now behaves as it should.
Considering the scratching it is something that is inherent to Sallen&key structure, one must use plastic track type to avoid this issue.
