RIP Maurice Jarre

Sad news sent my way via George Mattson

"Jean-Michel’s dad died yesterday.

He had quite a composing career winning Academy awards for his scores from Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago and Ryan’s Daughter.

He also composed his first electronic score for “The year of Living Dangerously.

RIP Maurice. My condolences to Jean-Michel."

Condolences indeed. Such a great loss.

  1. The Year of Living Dangerously was one of the first electronic compositions that got me interested in electronic music. The Mosquito Coast soundtrack was beautiful, too. It's a sad loss.
