Roland JP 4 not working ...any suggestions?
YouTube via mik300z
"Any ideas synthheads? It has been stored in a cold/damp environment for over a year or so . It may be voice chips but I think I may have heard 4 notes simultaneously. Notes will not release at all, hold button in off position. I am downloading owners and service manuals to see if they are of any help."

The very first thing I'd do is make sure the hold switch isn't stuck or shorted out- probably have to take it apart and disconnect it.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have a "voice chip" problem, because Jupiter-4's don't have voice chips- the synthesis is discrete. You may have a problem with the voice assign board because it isn't shutting notes off.
I have the same problem and the only solution I found was to smash on it on the right side...really hard... surely not the smartest thing to do...
