Make insane effect loops, cool phrases, fat basslines or crazy percusion rhythms, change the sound in real time by tweeking the knobs on stage or in studio or connect it to your favorite effects (delay, flange, etc, etc)and create a wide sort of rhytm textures and soundscapes with this beautiful lighted analog sequencer synth box...

And now sync it to any midi device like a drumbox midi sequencer or computer and play live!!!

This synth features one analog square and saw waveform VCO (voltage controled oscillator) with a huge pitch range, from subsonic to ultrasonic sound.

One square and triangle waveform LFO (low frequency oscillator), that modulates the VCO for the vibrato effect creating old school arcade Atari-like sounds.

White noise generator that triggers the VCO and can create percussion like sounds.

8 step Sequencer with note on/off switch and pitch knob for each step

It features a 1/4 inch audio output, 1/4 inch CV Output (to control other analog gear).

The Mochika2 features a MIDI input to sync the Mochika with any midi device sending midi clock signals, the mochika can sync 1, 2, 4 and up to 8 times the tempo of the master clock midi device, also it can be used as a midi to gate converter to sync other analog gear using the CV output of the Mochika2.

Also the instrument is ligthed with 1 bright green led that indicates the LFO Rate, and 8 blue leds to indicate the step that is being played. Very useful when you play it on a dark stage.
The Analog Sequencer is packed in a cool laser cut clear acrilic case that shows all the hand made analog circuitry.

The instrument is powered directly from 110V or 220V AC.
Dimensions: 230mm(W), 170 mm(D), 80mm(H. incuded rubber feet and knobs)

  1. I know this is going to sound shallow, but from a marketing standpoint, you guys would probably increase your sales tenfold by NOT using transparent housing. The first thing I think when I see these is "cheap, homemade, generic, etc." An opaque box in black, or even in some off-the-wall day-glo color adds a sense of mystery and professional stability to these unique units.

  2. disagree, it looks gorgeous and professionally produced, like the way the logo is on the pcb, when i see this i think "boutique", "eclectic", "exclusive"

  5. Hello,

I am a market research analyst and would like to impart some professional knowledge on this discussion.

First, this company went wrong when they chose to invest capital in a highly select market. This market has no mass appeal and returns are limited to what demand is available, which may be sporadic at best.

So that set aside we can start looking at it from a more constructive view point.

Given the choice of investment it took to create this company it follows that it was most likely decided upon due to personal interest in the market, not just to seize a high return. (BTW, It is here where I have found the most content business owners and practitioners due to the amount of freedom achieved from making such a choice.)

    Back on topic:

And now we enter the "boutique." This market is rogue. Always has been, always will be. It's that last standing dream anyone can still realistically achieve as an entrepreneur fully empowered to fulfill his or her vision without the constraints of other structured forces, other than regulatory legalities of course.

When all is put together, the suggestions of what this company should or shouldn't do become moot and your time is better spent focusing on the products that do meet your preferences.

The case design of this product was a choice made by the company as a way to pronounce themselves in their design. And by any real textbook assessment it actually exceeds at meeting and exceeding all the criteria and has done a great job at drawing your attention to it.

So if you don't like it, then don't like it. Whether or not this product is housed in platinum or plastic really makes no difference and research further proves that more influence is found in the difference of color rather than material for things where absolute structural integrity isn't a must.

Besides, I like the clear look ; )

  6. @anonymous, who said

They didn't "go wrong" at all! They've only gone wrong if you believe that maximum profits are the only motive for manufacturing and commerce.

They're not. Perhaps AtomoSynth's creators just like creating cool synths on tight margins for the few people who want to buy them? Perhaps the guy who runs the show has a decent well paid day job and couldn't care less how many he sells as long as there are some happy customers out there with some cool toys?

Google "Monome". That should get your cold dead capitlalist heart all in a lather ')

  7. Hey Jim,

LOL, I feel ya. No worries. We're on the same team here.

Perhaps it wasn't clear in my post but that paragraph you quoted of mine was intended somewhat sarcastically to outline the silliness of even discussing a "marketing standpoint" as posed by breitt in the first post, that's all.

Referencing the rest of my post there I go on to list my admirations for such a market.

Did you catch the whole thread or just read that bit and got lit up? Cause yeah, that would probably light me up too at a glance. But no worries, I understand.

    Best ; )
