Minimoog Model D

via this auction
"Owned (and sold) by Adam Holzman, renowned keyboard player with Miles Davis, Chaka Khan, Grover Washington jr., and many others; also currently Moog artist. You will be dealing directly with Adam. Note from Adam: I have used this Minimoog in the studio for over 20 years. It is reliable and sounds great. It is serial #6675. Notice it has the classic nylon pitch wheels, which are stronger (and thinner) than the corrugated plastic jobbies they switched to later. The cabinet is also made from real polished wood, not the painted plywood that also came later. This baby is definitely a classic. I bought it used in the early 80's, it was originally my 'back-up' Minimoog for touring (with my Los Angeles based band, The Fents). This Minimoog also appears on several of my studio recordings; check out the killer bass sound on the track 'Second World' from my CD "The Big Picture." I had a second set of CV and Gate inputs installed by American Electronics, (these guys went on to form Studio Electronics, who built the excellent 3rd party Moog spin-off, the Midi-Moog). This modification tracks CV more accurately than the stock input, and the Gate is a standard trigger, not the unusual "S" trigger which Moog employed back in the day, which means that this Minimoog will interface easily with most analog gear without any further modifications. This Minimoog is ideal for any kind of midi work, all you need is a midi-to-CV converter box (several different types of these converters are available). (The imperfections on the front panel and the scratches on the sides occurred before I owned it. The front panel overlay can probably be flattened by a hip technician with a heat gun, the side panels can be re-stained fairly easily.) This Minimoog was serviced a few weeks ago by E.A.R.S. (Expert Audio Repair Service) in New York City and it is in very good shape. All the pots have been cleaned, some switches have been replaced, and everything works fine."
