1967 Moog 900 Series Demo Record featuring Wendy Carlos

"A rare vintage demo record for the Moog 900 series synths, released by Moog when they were in Trumansburg, NY. Music by Wendy Carlos of Switched On Bach fame, narration by Ed Stokes.

There are apparently two versions of this demo record in existence. This one, presumably the first version, with duplicate content on both sides, and a second with excerpts from Switched on Bach on the reverse,"

Update:

Re-Upload video description:

"This is a very cool find. This is a copy of the 1967 Moog 900 Series modular synthesizer demo record. This was given to people interested in the new Moog synthesizer. This is uploaded for educational purposes only, and also to show the historical significance of early electronic music. Hope you enjoy."

  1. Just one comment: This is a video nearly, see the effects... But, at time of "Switechd on Bach" is Walter, no Wendy.
    Wendy, works before 80´s.
The same person, but not the same sex and name :)

  3. Jay...This is a "nevermind" thing. I have the Lp´s of Walter, no Wendy.
Is like Genesis P. Orridge chase... Not for blame, only for a fine catalogue of the works in time.
Never mind the sex or name, same religion or skin, but the B.S.O of "Clockwork Orange" is Walter.¿Then...?
Get your "ouch list" and see you in a looking glass. Are you a Hunter? :P
    Nice day! Ouch! :PPP
    (very suspicious mind, I think!)

  4. This isn't Carlos's rig. Whose is it?

  5. It's the CEMS, originally at SUNY New York. It was auctioned off at VEMIA a while ago, and AFAIK some dude in Italy bought it. Last I heard he was parting it out...

  6. I was researching for interview with Suzanne Ciani several years ago and happened upon photos of "her" Buchla. I asked her about it and sent her a link. She wrote back that this was her old Buchla that had been stolen, and here it was in Europe being parted out. She hadn't known about it. ... end of story.

  9. Infact I was the ebay seller of one (of 8) CEMS sequencer, but ...at end I have decided to not sell it anymore in order to preserve his hystoric value. Thank you for the video and best regards

  10. The representatives of Wendy Carlos demanded this video be taken down.

    Oh well.

  11. The fact this was taken down is a damn shame. DAMN SHAME.
