ReplyDelete$17,000 plus another $2K for the keyboard. I'd rather buy a Mac Pro, Kontakt and a half dozen really nice synths.
ReplyDeleteWow... I just don't see the justification of that price with todays cheaper prices for the parts. No wonder they're only making 100 of them. And in today's economy especially.... sheees...
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, at that price....I'd much rather have a Neuron, OB-Xa, and a MiniMoog. Slightly different then the Fairlight but....
so, that $17k isn't a typo? if not, i'm thinking there's a major miscalculation here, as far as the demand for such a thing is concerned. i'd love to have one, but personally i couldn't see paying much more than $2k-3k total for it, including the keyboard. any more than that, and i'd much rather wait around for an original IIx at a bargain price, since i'm really not interested in whatever vast technical advantages the new fairlight might have over the original. in my opinion, the whole point in using a fairlight is to get the classic fairlight sound- period. and that should be achievable for WAY less money.

ReplyDeleteI have to say that I'm extremely disappointed in the price. He initially made mention of $5,000 earlier - that seemed fine with me then. No way now.
