ReplyDeleteThe issue is these price hikes are like the tulip craze of the 1600's. Ok, the CS-80 is an awesome synth, but its also 30+ years old. So, you pay $10-14 grand and a voice card craps out and then what? I own a JP8, the CPU went and I've been everywhere trying to get it fixed. Hence, in this day and age, get the samples from the classic synths like the CS80 because the prices are being bid higher by collectors and if you are buying it to cover and show, you could care less about voice cards :)) Market demand is more collector influenced then player and thus the chances of owning one are greatly diminished. However, in the case of the CS80, you can get near virtual identical sounds out of the CS70M--darn close and 10K cheaper..(and still analog) :))
