MATRIXSYNTH Synclavier

MATRIXSYNTH by eccentric.

Bottom shot:
"Mirage (found sitting exposed to the elements at a Los Angeles surplus place... bought for $15 dead, easily fixed) sitting atop Synclavier II (acquired for free from owner who no longer wanted it.) Ancient sonic wonderfulness, still useful."

  2. Nice score! I bet I know the place...starts with an 'A' and ends with an 'X'? An amazing surplus place with random score opportunities. I got an Atari Video Music unit there for $10 (if you indeed got it where I'm thinking!).

  3. That's not a Synclavier II, tho - the II is the middle-era 5 octave keyboard unit with the wooden chassis, right?

The one in the picture is the larger version, with the black lacquer body and the Prophet T8 keyboard, isn't it?

  4. Actually it IS a Synclavier II system in this case- The guy who owned it bought it early on with the ORK (Original Keyboard, brown) and never upgraded anything about the system except the keyboard shown here, which is the VPK (Velocity/Pressure Keyboard, yes it's the T8 mechanism in black.) Jimmersound: :D

  5. Man, a FREE Synclavier (with T8 keyboard no less). That's right up there with the urban legend about the $50.00 Porche.

  6. Or the story of the guy who scored the serge panels from the dumpster. I'm still waiting to find me a score like that. maybe a Theremin being tossed or one of those hearing lab units being junked. Probably never happen to me though.
