  1. My favorite straight-up VA (i.e. no wavetables, samples, etc.). So easy to program and such a beautiful, smooth sound. Warmer and silkier than my all-time favorite Q.

  2. When they came out people said they sounded closer to the Jupiter-8 than others, specifically the JP-8000. The Clavia Nord lead sounded like SCI and the Access Virus always reminded me of Oberheim, or rather I found it easier to create Oberheim pads and strings on it vs. the others.

  3. Agreed on the Roland and SCI observations; sadly, I have no experience with vintage Oberheims. (Is it OK to admit that on this blog?) I have a Supernova II, and it continually reminds me of Jupiters and Junos.
