$75, 000.00.
ReplyDeletewow.
Well....you'll probably never see another one for sale.....
ReplyDelete4 OSC system. I guess I should buy TWO then?
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful thing. I want.
ReplyDeleteI get that it is analog and vintage, but I don't understand the appeal of these...where the fuck is the keyboard? I never thought there could be such a thing as too many knobs but...
ReplyDeleteI just offered him $150,000
ReplyDeleteThis seller is extremely reputable, is someone who knows what they are doing and you can rest assured that the value is legitimate and it is a fair deal.
ReplyDeleteyou could buy 7 Mungos for that!
ReplyDeleteCinema....where is the keyboard.
ReplyDeleteFor get the keyboard, a synth isnt the keyboard its what you can do with the sound :-)
GO MODULAR
Damn! That is just lovely. Perhaps Fannie Mae would allow me to take out a home loan for it.
ReplyDeleteThe listing has been removed. I guess the seller got an offer he couldn't refuse.
ReplyDeleteCinema - are you the one writing all those brilliant comments on youtube videos? Sorry, just kidding, nothing personal. Buchla was always about alternative controllers, and you almost never see traditional keyboards attached to one. Actually this synth has 2 keypads, which is pretty unusual for a Buchla.
"Well....you'll probably never see another one for sale....."
ReplyDeletethey come up waayyy more often than 200s.
they are pieces of history, most of what they offer is replicable to the extent that purchase (for that price) isn't really merited for most folks. the harm gen and tkbs are really great though, something that would be worth having if that's what your into.
where's they keyboard! ha! lazy
It's gone now? I bet Don Buchla is wishing he'd kept a few of these old systems.
ReplyDeleteI think Don should release a gold plated Buchla 200e system.
he did dude
ReplyDeleteIt just looks like the opposite of intuitive. Very un-musical. I'm sure it's awesome for creating textures, ambience, noise and sound effects. I just don't know how useful it would be to me for making melodies if I don't know what notes I am playing. I'm just saying maybe there is a reason which has little to do with the sounds it can make why no one besides synth enthusiasts has ever heard of Buchla and eveyone and their grandma has heard of Moog. To esoteric for it's own good.
ReplyDeleteit sounds like you haven't spent too much time listening to the instrument. try youtube
ReplyDeletethought exercise:
imagine you had access to any arbitrary scale you wanted for your fixed keyboard. don't you think that your playing would come to resemble something more fluid and organic? You still feel your way through melodies, just using your ear.
it's intent is to be liberating, but let's not forget, buchla's own actions reflect your concerns. he made a number of fixed chromatic instruments, some with actual keyboards after the 100.
please, listen to some of the music made with these instruments. they are quite musical. just different.
(insert buchla musician plugs here)
ReplyDeletenot everyone makes babble like this jerkoff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okc9FuHcFbo
he did shoot some great video of the last of the 111th FWs A-10Cs though.
Notes? Melody? What is this, the 18th Century or something?!?
