"KEY FEATURES OF EUROPA
* Intuitive and simple programming procedure
* No sub-menus or shift keys - one function per key
* Simple to use - TR808/606 style programming.
* Analogue features - analogue tempo clock, 7 analogue trigger outs, analogue sync signals
* Live editing features
* Transpose, Octave shift, Mute
* Rugged steel construction.
Europa is a hardware sequencer, it does not contain a 'sound engine'. It has been designed from the ground up to be utilised with your MIDI synths, analogue modular, drum brains and drum machines.
Eurpoa was designed to be utilised with our SQ8 and Oberkorn analogue sequencers (and anything else with a compatible clock input).
Either use the main sync out or one of the seven trigger outputs to clock your analogue sequencers. Have them step whenever you like by programming triggers into the Europa sequencer. You can have 2 sequencers play alternately. You can mute the track so the Oberkorn/SQ8 sequencer stops! Use another trigger and you can activate the reset feature of the Oberkorn/SQ8!"
Be sure to see these posts for video.
nice sequencer and looks well made... but for $150-$200 more you could find a used monomachine MKI or machinedrum MKI.. though i guess the design approach is quite different and sequencers are "to each his own". i can see this thing fitting into a streamlined set up for some people.
ReplyDeleteafter watching some more of the demos this thing looks wicked fast to use. i'm sure plenty of techno heads will dig. it fills a void.
ReplyDeleteIm considering selling my MPC1000 to buy this, I barely ever use it and I only use it for sequencing my blofeld, I just hope I can get 800 for it, seems kinda pricey, but it does have 7 analogue outs which is Fking awesome. My decision will be based on if this thing can do polly per track or if its 17 mono seqences
ReplyDelete@Gavin
ReplyDeleteIt has 7 trigger outputs (pulses) not analogue outputs and it is 16 mono tracks but you can assign any MIDI channel to any track so you can get poly that way (all tracks can output a note at the same time). The 17th track is a drum track and it can do 12 notes polyphony.
@steve
ReplyDeleteyes you can get a used Machinedrum or Monomachine
but that's it exactly
a USED product
in time we shall see what these go for on the second hand market
I think it would integrate well into a studio where they are using predominantly analogue equipment and prefer a more intuitive design to that of say, Future Retro's Orb
it also looks stunning!
I dig it
I think this is a dream come true for many of us, look is has swing also:

TR-909 is alive again ;)
@Andrew - kind of made that point in my 2nd post.. re: it filling a void and fitting in to certain set ups well.
ReplyDeletere: used MD/MnM .. well, so what? they are awesome machines with amazing sequencing features though lack all the trigger outs obviously and are completely different UI's than the europa which is streamlined and as said looks super fast to get around on.
I like the way it's laid out. makes a lot of sense to my brain.
at ECK, i dont know the lingo, i was assuming you could sequence 7 analogue synths with it? or just one note per pulse? I always hope these kinda things last, like the FR orb, because I have no money at the moment and Im selling half of my gear just for a decent mixer so I can actually record
