"wonderful day": improvisation by TSF

YouTube via TheSynthFreq
"Hi. This is a new improvised composition written on the Roland D-50 and Roland Alpha Juno-1. 03-24-10.
The Alpha Juno-1 patch has a slight distortion to it due to the amp/computer connection. I tried to resolve this with taking down the lower frequencies and EQ'ing it to death and still can't avoid the unwanted distortion in the Juno's line. It might be easier to listen to it at a lower volume. :)
Please enjoy!
:) TSF"

  1. Maybe he's got one MIDI'd, but that doesn't look like any Juno-1 I've ever seen. What is that? A Casio?

  2. as far as I recall synthfreq is a girl. Agreed that it looks, and sounds, like a CZ. Nice patch on the D50

  3. D50 is still one hell of a powerhouse if you can program it right ;)

  4. Hi everyone, SynthFreq here.
LOL YES it is a Casio CZ-5000, it is only acting as my MIDI CONTROLLER for the Alpha Juno-1 that is to my right in the video. You are only hearing D-50, the Alpha Juno-1 and the Motif-6 here. :)I use the CZ's keys and pitch bend wheel as a MIDI message source since the Juno has no pitch bend lever and the Juno has a very fragile keybed as well. I NEVER use the horrible Casio CZ presets LOL! there is no amp line in the CZ either, it's internal sound engine has been turned off (local off) for some time now. Its a great controller though, built like a tank.
The patch on the D-50 was one of the first ones I made 3 years ago when I found D-50. D-50 is my love. :)

  5. Nice one! Reminds me a bit of Suzanne Ciani. Great lead sound from the D50.
