"In development is a replacement kit for the Roland JX-3P.
It is still in the early stages but I will keep this page updated with progress.
Ideas for the JX-3P so far are:-
MidiCC support for all parameters
All patches fully editable - possibly extra patches depending on cpu room
Poly and Unison Key modes
Dynamics and Aftertouch via midi
Portamento
Separate LFO and ENV mods for each DCO
Second LFO2 for VCA
Greater speed range and 6 waveforms for LFO1 and LFO2
Second Envelope2 for VCA (Env 1 will be used for DCO & Filter Mods)
Arpeggiator
Midi Sequencer Control
Appegiator and Sequencer Output Midi Data
Patch Editor Control of Parameters
Updates via Internet"
Word is this is almost ready.
This sounds pretty cool actually. I'd be willing to check it out if the price was reasonable.
ReplyDeleteLol wtf. This is brilliant news! Damn...will this coexist with my JX-3P midi upgrade kit?
ReplyDeleteMIDI CC control of parameters: it's been done.
ReplyDeleteMore mod sources: always welcome.
Arpeggiator: OK, but JX doesn't have enough buttons.
Unison: Never very effective on a DCO synth.
If it can detune the DCOs with arbitrary values the unison will probably sound fine. Better even to add semi-unison modes, like 3-poly 2-voice unison and 2-poly 3-voice unison. With configurable detune of course
ReplyDeleteCool, I'm waiting for this :o)
