Note this was originally posted on July 23, 2005 here. I figured I'd put a new post for those that missed it and now that it is embeddable. If you like this documentary be sure to see The History of the Amen Break, also by Nate Harrison.
Update: be sure to see the comments in this post for more.
I know this was shooted in 2005, but as of now, I disapprove of any 303 documentary that fails to mention Charanjit Singh
ReplyDeleteugh
ReplyDeleteNate Harrison is the same guy that did the Amen Break documentary and his voice puts me to sleep everytime.
ReplyDeleteYeah, there are a couple factual errors in this. And his voice annoys the hell out of me.
ReplyDeleteSmack My Bitch up uses the Korg Prophecy patch called Growler 303, not an original TB-303.
ReplyDeleteand in madonna's ray of light, as far as i know, Mr. Orbit wasn't using a tb303 ... it was a juno 106 more probably controlled via midi
ReplyDeletethank you to pichenettes for turning me on to 'Ten Ragas to a disco beat'... via your comment. fantastic.
