"WHAT MAKES THIS DX7 SPECIAL IS THAT IT IS SILVER AND COLOR AND HAS FOUR BANKS ALREADY LOADED. THIS MEANS THAT THERE IS MORE SOUNDS AND MORE OPTION PRETTY MUCH FOUR KEYBOARDS IN ONE."
Anyone know more about this version? Was it a limited release?

That would be a spray-painted original DX with (I'm guessing) either a SuperMax or an E! board installed. Might be neat to harvest the expansion board out of it.
ReplyDeleteto me, it's more a very bad custom stuff
ReplyDeleteyou no longer see any algorithm on the panel
i remember a very nicely moded dx-7 with wood, it looked a bit like a mini dx-1 without led everywhere
and having 4 banks is not supermax, but max (i have here 3 different kind of max)
ReplyDeletemax=> 4 banks
max (2)=> 8 banks (possibility to stack 4 times the same sound, with individual tuning, all manually (no functions saves))
super max => miracle of fm synthesis !!!! (incredible arpeggio, morphing, stacks, delay, 16 banks, and possibility to save all these for each patch ....)
