Poll: One Pic Per Post?

Update: if you caught this post earlier, I was debating whether to limit posts to one image or video with a link to the full post for the rest. The site would look more streamlined and could be quicker to load, but it could take away from the current look and feel of the site. Another option that came up in the comments would be to just have the more link for posts that are a bit long, like auction posts with tons of images or video posts with multiple parts. I wasn't sure I wanted to sign up for that as it could become a bit of work considering how much does go up, but it might not be that bad after-all, and it would keep the general look and feel of posts currently on the site. That said, there are three polls below. An updated poll with this option, the original closed poll, and a poll on site performance. Note I added the "Click for more" link to a couple of posts including this one on the main page. Take a look and see what you think.

A note on why this might matter and why I'm leaning towards leaving things as is: The blog is a bit of a jumbled webzine. It's not perfect, but that's what I like about it. I like that it currently forces you to see things in the context of the full post and it forces you to see things you might not otherwise. It's rough around the edges and I like that. When I met people at NAMM, one of the biggest compliments I received was that I just put it out there. I mix the obviously important with the things that may not seem so important, but the experience is there and it might not be otherwise.

Update: I'm going to go with the mixed approach for now. I'll leave things as is and add the link to more for the lengthy posts and auction posts with tons of images. Feel free to still vote as I'll check back periodically.

The following poll closed and replaced by the above.

And the perf poll:

  1. I generally don't mind multiple pics per post, but sometimes the eBay posts with a ton of pictures of each synth, especially when you put up a bunch of eBay posts at once, gets to be a bit much. Just posting the 2-3 'best' pics from an auction would clean up most of the excess.

  2. I agree. Please, try to make the main page load quickly, and also use YouTube or Vimeo videos sparingly.

  5. I like multi pics per post. I come here to see synth pics. Why should I be denied?

To reduce spam, comments for posts older than one week are not displayed until approved, usually same day. Do not insult people. For items for sale, do not ask if it is still available. Check the auction link and search for the item. Auctions are from various sellers and expire over time. Posts remain for the pics and historical purposes. This site is meant to be a daily snapshot of some of what was out there in the world of synths.
