"I was at the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle today and saw this panel which is an original 'control panel' used in the 1960's Outer Limits TV series. The photo is perhaps not good enough quality for a post, but I do believe that this type of iconic childhood sci-fi image is what backs a lot of baby-boomer obsession with knob-a-holic analog synthesis. Just a thought!" Indeed and definitely worth a post. I'm curious what sound effects went along with the scenes that featured it and what used to create them.

To reduce spam, comments for posts older than one week are not displayed until approved, usually same day. Do not insult people. For items for sale, do not ask if it is still available. Check the auction link and search for the item. Auctions are from various sellers and expire over time. Posts remain for the pics and historical purposes. This site is meant to be a daily snapshot of some of what was out there in the world of synths.

I'm sure Thunderbirds had it's influence as well.
ReplyDeleteScience fiction movies of the late 50s and early 60s totally drive my lust for knobby gear. Yesterday's world of tomorrow was so much cooler than how it actually turned out.
ReplyDeleteThat era was the very inspiration for my Atomic Shadow projects.
